Last updated: May 31, 2026
These Terms of Service (“these Terms”) set out the conditions for use of AURA Poetry (“the Service”). By using the Service, you are deemed to have agreed to these Terms. In the event of any discrepancy between the Japanese and English versions of these Terms, the Japanese version shall prevail.
Article 1 (Overview of the Service)
The Service is an information service intended to present the municipalities and islands of Japan quietly, as a single index, rather than as a guide to tourist destinations. The Service does not recommend, solicit, or guarantee visits or travel to any particular place.
Article 2 (Source and Nature of Data)
- The geographic information, administrative boundaries, terrain, and other data provided by the Service are based on the National Land Numerical Information (KSJ) of Japan’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, data provided by the Geospatial Information Authority of Japan (GSI), and other publicly available sources. Such source data is used in accordance with the terms of use of each provider.
- The information presented on the Service is based on information available at the time of its creation. We do not guarantee its accuracy, completeness, timeliness, or fitness for any particular purpose.
- You shall use the information on the Service at your own responsibility and shall not rely on it as the sole basis for any decision regarding travel, relocation, or otherwise.
Article 3 (Intellectual Property)
- Copyright and other intellectual property rights in the text, design, compilations, and other content comprising the Service (excluding source data) belong to us or to the rightful owners.
- Intellectual property rights in the source data belong to their respective providers.
- You may not reproduce, republish, modify, or redistribute the content of the Service beyond the scope of private use without our prior permission.
Article 4 (Prohibited Conduct)
In using the Service, you shall not engage in any of the following:
- Conduct that violates laws or public order and morals
- Conduct that places an excessive load on the servers or network of the Service
- Systematic access to the Service or collection of data by automated means (such as scraping or crawling) that is not authorized by us
- Conduct that interferes with the operation of the Service
- Use of the Service for improper purposes
- Conduct that infringes the rights or interests of us or any third party
- Any other conduct that we deem inappropriate
Article 5 (Disclaimer)
- We make no warranty of any kind, whether express or implied, regarding the accuracy, completeness, usefulness, or any other aspect of the information presented on the Service.
- Except in cases of our willful misconduct or gross negligence, we shall not be liable for any damage incurred by users arising from the use of, or inability to use, the Service.
- We shall not be liable for any damage incurred by users arising from the interruption, suspension, termination, or unavailability of the Service.
- External websites or services linked from the Service are not under our control. We are not responsible for their content.
Article 6 (Handling of Personal Information)
The collection, use, and management of user information in connection with the Service are governed by our separately established Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you are deemed to have agreed to the content of that Privacy Policy.
Article 7 (Changes to and Termination of the Service)
We may change all or part of the content of the Service, or interrupt, suspend, or terminate the provision of the Service, without prior notice to users. We shall not be liable for any damage incurred by users as a result.
Article 8 (Changes to These Terms)
We may change these Terms without prior notice to users where we deem it necessary. The revised Terms take effect when posted on the Service. A user who uses the Service after the revision is deemed to have agreed to the revised Terms.
Article 9 (Governing Law and Jurisdiction)
- These Terms shall be interpreted and applied in accordance with the laws of Japan.
- Any dispute arising between us and a user in connection with the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Tokyo District Court as the court of first instance.
