Privacy Policy

AURA Poetry (“the Service”) respects the privacy of its users and is committed to the appropriate handling of personal and usage information. This Privacy Policy (“this Policy”) sets out how information is collected, used, and managed in connection with the Service. In the event of any discrepancy between the Japanese and English versions of this Policy, the Japanese version shall prevail.
1. Operator
The Service is operated by the AURA Poetry operator (“we”, “us”, or “our”). For inquiries regarding this Policy, please contact us using the details in Section 10.
2. Information We Collect
The Service does not require user registration or login. The information we collect is limited to the following:
- Access log information: Information automatically transmitted when you access the Service, including your IP address, browser type, referring page, pages viewed, date and time of access, and device type.
- Information collected through cookies and similar technologies: Statistical information regarding your use of the Service (see Section 4).
- Information you enter: The Service provides (a) an input field for filtering municipalities and other areas by name on the map, (b) a function for searching areas by keyword, and (c) a function for setting a base location from a place name or address. These are handled as follows:
- (a) Input for filtering by the name of a municipality or other area is processed within your browser and is not transmitted to our servers.
- (b) Area search keywords are transmitted to our servers. We may record them as part of our server access logs, but we do not use them for the purpose of identifying any specific individual.
- (c) The place name or address you enter when setting a base location, or your location information if you grant permission, is transmitted to Mapbox, the map service (see Section 5), and used to convert it into location information (geocoding). We do not store such input on our servers.
The Service does not ask users to provide information that identifies them as individuals, such as name, address, telephone number, or email address.
3. Purpose of Use
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To provide, maintain, protect, and improve the Service
- To analyze usage of the Service and produce statistical data
- To prevent unauthorized access and other improper conduct
- To respond to inquiries from users
4. Cookies and Analytics
The Service uses cookies and the following analytics tool to understand usage and improve the Service:
- Google Analytics 4 (GA4): An analytics service provided by Google LLC. GA4 uses cookies to collect information about your use of the Service. The information collected is anonymous and does not identify you as an individual. For information on how Google handles data, please see Google’s Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy).
- User consent: Analytics cookies are used only where the user has given consent. On your first visit, the Service displays a consent banner and does not activate analytics (GA4) until you have given consent. Through the consent banner, you may accept or decline the use of analytics cookies.
- You may also decline analytics by disabling cookies in your browser settings or by using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on (https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout).
- Even if analytics cookies are declined or disabled, the basic functions of the Service remain available, although some features may not function correctly.
5. Transmission of Information to Third-Party Services
The Service uses the following external services in order to operate, and some of the information described in Section 2 may be transmitted to these services. The handling of information by each service is governed by the privacy policy of its respective provider.
- Google Analytics (Google LLC): analytics
- Mapbox (Mapbox, Inc.): map display, and the conversion of place names and addresses into location information (geocoding) for the area search and base location features. Place names or addresses you enter in the base location feature, or location information you permit, are transmitted to Mapbox.
- Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc.): content delivery and security
- Heroku (Salesforce, Inc.): server hosting
Some of these services operate on servers located outside Japan, and your information may therefore be transferred outside Japan.
6. Provision to Third Parties
We do not provide collected information to third parties except in the following cases:
- Where the user has given consent
- Where required by law
- Where necessary to protect the life, body, or property of a person and it is difficult to obtain the user’s consent
Use of the external services described in Section 5 does not constitute “provision to third parties” under this Section.
7. Management of Information
We take reasonable measures to prevent the leakage, loss, or damage of collected information and to otherwise manage it securely. However, we do not guarantee the complete security of information transmitted over the internet.
8. Users’ Rights
In accordance with applicable law, users may request the disclosure, correction, suspension of use, or deletion of information we hold about them. Such requests may be made using the contact details in Section 10. Because the Service does not retain user registration information, there may be no information available to respond to such a request.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may change this Policy as necessary. The revised Policy takes effect when it is posted on the Service. Where significant changes are made, we will provide appropriate notice on the Service.
